PARTICIPANT RELEASE, WAIVER OF LIABILITY & ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT

Please Read Carefully – This Is a Legal Document

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any event, walk, meetup, activity, or gathering organized, sponsored, or hosted by 904 Walk Club (“Walk Club”), I agree to the following:

1. ASSUMPTION OF RISK

I understand that participation in walking events and related activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • Slips, trips, and falls

  • Uneven pavement, curbs, streets, sidewalks, trails

  • Vehicle traffic

  • Weather conditions (heat, rain, lightning, humidity)

  • Wildlife, insects, or environmental hazards

  • Acts of other participants or third parties

  • Physical exertion, dehydration, illness, or medical emergencies

I voluntarily assume all risks, known and unknown, foreseeable and unforeseeable, associated with participation.

2. RELEASE OF LIABILITY

I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless:

904 Walk Club, its founders, organizers, volunteers, event leaders, sponsors, partners, affiliates, and any associated individuals (“Released Parties”)

from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or causes of action arising out of or related to my participation, including but not limited to:

  • Personal injury

  • Illness

  • Death

  • Property damage

  • Economic loss

This release includes claims arising from ordinary negligence of the Released Parties.

3. MEDICAL RESPONSIBILITY

I certify that I am physically able to participate.
I understand that 904 Walk Club does not provide medical insurance.

I authorize emergency medical treatment if deemed necessary and accept full financial responsibility for any medical expenses incurred.

4. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

I agree to:

  • Follow all traffic laws and pedestrian rules

  • Stay aware of my surroundings

  • Exercise reasonable judgment

  • Notify organizers if I leave the group

  • Participate at my own pace and risk

I understand that 904 Walk Club is a social walking group and not a supervised athletic training program.

5. MINORS

Participants under 18 must have this waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Parent/Guardian agrees to all terms on behalf of the minor and assumes full responsibility.

6. PHOTO & MEDIA RELEASE

I grant 904 Walk Club permission to use photographs, video, or media of me taken during events for promotional and marketing purposes without compensation.

7. INDEMNIFICATION

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims brought by me or on my behalf, including attorney fees and legal costs.

8. SEVERABILITY

If any portion of this agreement is found unenforceable, the remainder shall remain in full force and effect.

9. GOVERNING LAW

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT

I have read this agreement fully, understand its terms, and sign it voluntarily.
I understand I am giving up substantial legal rights by signing this document.
